Coronavirus: Arthritis patients takes double time to become corona free

Based on the medical history of some patients, doctors are assuming that those infected with arthritis are taking 20 to 25 days to recover.

Indore in Madhya Pradesh has a high number of Corona infections.

So far, there are more than 2900 corona-infected patients, of which 1400 have returned home after defeating the corona.

Most patients are taking 14 days to get rid of the corona, but some cases have also come to light that are taking twice as long to heal and their body remains infected after 14 days.

Based on the medical history of some of these patients, doctors are assuming that those infected with arthritis are taking 20 to 25 days to recover.

Case-1: An infected patient admitted to Index Hospital in Indore took longer to recover.

Due to arthritis, he was already taking the hydroxy chloroquine (HCQ) tablet, so the drug had little effect on the patient to clear the corona infection.

Case-2: A woman could not get rid of infection even after 14 days. Her report came negative 25 days later.

The woman also has arthritis.  Due to this, the effect of the medicines given for the infection was delayed.

Case-3: The second report of a patient admitted to Aurobindo Hospital in Indore was not negative.

The condition of the patient is fine. The patient is also complaining of arthritis and it is taking more time to develop immunity.

Arthritis Patients takes HCQ

The drug hydroxy chloroquine is effective in controlling arthritis and doctors are also using it for corona infection.

Doctors believe that arthritis patients already consume this medicine, so the effect of this medicine is not coming fast.

Arthritis controlled medication is also a reason

Dr. Dharmendra Jhanwar, a medicine professor at MY Hospital, said that testoids are given to control arthritis.

This decreases immunity, but arthritis remains controlled. This may be one reason for arthritis patients to take longer to recover when infected.
