 Meanwhile, a senior diplomat at the US embassy has been infected with the corona virus. In a statement, the embassy spokesman said the diplomat's name would not be disclosed.

According to the news agency PTI, the spokesman said that the US State Department is responsible for the safety of its citizens. In coordination with Pakistani authorities, the consulate is working to implement the protocol, to prevent the spread of the virus.

The spokesperson said that isolation wards are part of the contact tracing and quarantine facility protocols.

89,249 cases reported in the country so far


So far, 89,249 cases have been reported in the country. At the same time, the death toll has been 1838. So far, 31,198 patients have recovered from the infection. A record number of cases occurred for the third consecutive day after the Eid holiday and lockdown restrictions were relaxed in late May.

According to the Health Ministry, so far 33,536 cases have been reported in Sindh province, 33,144 in Punjab, 11,890 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 5,582 in Balochistan, 3,946 in Islamabad, 852 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 299 in Ghulam Kashmir (PoK). There have been 6,38,323 tests so far. There has been a record of 22,812 tests in the last 24 hours. This is the highest test in a day.

Parliament session begins despite a steady increase in Corona cases


According to Radio Pakistan, despite the steady increase in the number of Corona cases, the Senate session began on Friday morning, while the National Assembly session would be held in the afternoon.

In a meeting at the Parliament House in Islamabad, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani and Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Kaiser reviewed the arrangements made for two sessions.

 Earlier, the opposition rejected the idea of ​​a virtual meeting. The opposition said that this Parliament session is very important. The budget is expected to be presented next week.
